Since 1980, numerous theater venues including the long-established Cheongnyeon Theater and Seodam Small Theater have moved to University Road. Later, cafes and cinemas featuring live performances gradually gathered here as well. These have made University Road a comprehensive cultural space, and it can be said to be the very roots of Korea’s theater arts.
