Odaiko Hall is located in Odetsudo-shita, Tsuzuki, Kitaakita City, Akita Prefecture, in Japan’s northeastern region. It is a museum primarily dedicated to showcasing taiko drums from around the world, especially those traditionally used in the Tsuzuki area. The museum houses a drum made from a single piece of cowhide, which holds the Guinness World Record as the largest drum in the world — a sight that inspires awe and admiration for the strength of its makers.

Odaiko Hall displays 150 types of drums collected from over 40 countries around the globe. Some captivate visitors with their vibrant colors, others with their peculiar shapes, some with their unique materials, and still others with their impressive weight and size... Each drum is distinct, reflecting the local cultural traditions and customs. To help visitors better understand and experience the atmosphere of the Tsuzuki Shrine Festival and the powerful sound of taiko performances, the Odaiko Hall’s video hall features a special exhibition area where 150-inch screens play recordings of the taiko performances held annually in July during the Tsuzuki Shrine Festival, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the thrilling energy of live drumming.
