Kasukabe City

Kasukabe City is located in the southern part of the Kantō region of Japan, in the eastern part of Saitama Prefecture. Together with the neighboring city of Yashio, it has been designated as a Core City and a Business Core City of the "Land of Color." Most of the city lies within the Nakagawa Lowland and Tokyo Lowland, featuring relatively flat terrain. In recent years, many Yayoi period ruins have been discovered here.

Kasukabe is famous throughout Japan as the “City of Wisteria.” The city is also well known as the hometown of Crayon Shin-chan, an anime series that has aired on TV Asahi since 1992, based on the manga created by local cartoonist Yoshito Usui. This has significantly boosted the city’s fame. Notable attractions include Kasukabe Hachiman Shrine, Kamisama Shell Mound, Uchimaki Kofungun (Uchimaki Ancient Tomb Cluster), and Uchimaki Park.
