Oreti Beach is situated in the western part of Invercargill, the southernmost city in New Zealand, about 2 kilometers from the city. It is the meeting point of the Foveaux Strait, Te Waewae Bay (Te Waewae Bay), and Toetoes Bay (Toetoes Bay), and is well known for being a filming location of the movie *The World’s Fastest Indian*.

Stretching 26 kilometers in length, Oreti Beach was the filming site of the scene where the protagonist Monroe tests his self-modified motorcycle in *The World’s Fastest Indian*, and the beach brought to the screen is full of charm. Perhaps due to the influence of this film, many people enjoy riding motorcycles to the beach to experience the feeling from the movie and relive scenes from the film. Every day, visitors on motorcycles or bicycles speed along the peaceful beach, some even forming groups to race for the fastest time—just like in the movie.

At the southern end of Oreti Beach lies a relatively young sand spit, formed between 4,000 and 5,000 years ago. It serves as a natural playground for walking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, and is highly popular among tourists.
