Adam Art Gallery

The Adam Art Gallery is located on the campus of Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington. Established in 1999, it primarily serves as a platform for critical thinking, using art as a tool to enhance people’s cognitive abilities and to encourage more individuals to appreciate, learn about, study, and create art.

The Adam Art Gallery is an unusual building — very tall and quite narrow — and is well known for its outstanding exhibitions. The gallery houses an extensive collection of works on paper, oil paintings, watercolours, sculptures, photographs, and more. Each piece is exquisitely crafted and truly breathtaking, with the collection continuing to grow. To support art enthusiasts’ learning, in addition to its permanent exhibitions, the gallery also hosts a variety of symposiums, seminars, and lectures on diverse topics. Admission to the Adam Art Gallery is free. It is open to the public from 11:00 to 17:00 Tuesday through Sunday, and closed on Mondays and public holidays.
