Government House Canberra is situated in Canberra, the capital of the Australian Capital Territory, and is the official residence of the Governor-General of Australia. Widely known in Australia as "Yarralumla" — the name of the estate prior to its use as the Governor-General’s residence — the building itself is not large in scale. However, the gardens surrounding the residence span 54 hectares, offering a serene, tranquil, and refreshing environment that reflects distinctively Australian character.

The entire estate is located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. The exterior of the building has retained its beige cement-rendered walls and green roof tiles. Its core structure is a brick farmhouse built between 1890 and 1891, which has undergone multiple expansions to reach its current size. The Government House estate is surrounded by Canberra’s diplomatic enclave, home to various embassies of foreign countries in Australia. It has often served as the residence for visits by the Queen of Australia, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, as well as for state visits by other heads of state to Canberra.
