The National Museum of Australia & National Gallery of Australia is located in the commercial district of Canberra's city center, east of The Australian National University. Established in 1998, it serves as both a museum and an art gallery, showcasing the region’s social history and visual arts through dynamic exhibitions and unique programs.

The building is divided into two floors, with several distinct exhibition halls. The permanent exhibition, “Reflecting Canberra,” opened in 2001, features a large collection of local, Australian, and international artifacts, attracting significant attention. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the venue regularly hosts a variety of exhibitions. Since its opening, over 250 exhibitions have been held, many of which are of international standard and have received widespread acclaim from visitors. Admission to the National Museum of Australia & National Gallery of Australia is free. It is open to the public from 10:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, and from 12:00 to 16:00 on weekends.
