Queensland Art Gallery

The Queensland Art Gallery is located within the Queensland Cultural Centre in Brisbane. Established in 1895, it covers a floor area of 15,477 square metres. Its mission is to connect people with art and it stands as a symbol of the cultural and artistic development of Queensland. Since its inception, the gallery's collection has been steadily expanding, becoming increasingly diverse and complex.

The Queensland Art Gallery boasts 4,700 square metres of exhibition space, featuring permanent displays of paintings and sculptures, as well as renowned artworks by both domestic and international artists. Visitors can admire famous works from Australia, Asia, Europe, the Pacific, and other regions around the world, immersing themselves in an ocean of art that stimulates the mind and may even spark creative inspiration. The gallery also has a dedicated Children’s Art Centre where kids can participate in workshops, view precious exhibits, and engage in a variety of innovative interactive activities to discover and explore the wonders of art.

The Queensland Art Gallery is open daily and features a café that is open to visitors. After enjoying great works of art, you can stop by the café for a delicious cup of coffee.
