Queensland Modern Art Gallery
The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art is located within the Queensland Cultural Centre in Brisbane, adjacent to the Queensland Art Gallery. It opened in December 2006, covers a floor area of 25,000 square metres, and is Australia’s largest modern art museum.
The Gallery of Modern Art has 1,100 square metres of exhibition space, featuring primarily artworks from the 20th and 21st centuries. Most of the collection consists of modern works from the Queensland Art Gallery, mainly originating from Australia, Asia, and the Pacific region. Strolling through this vibrant and stylish gallery and admiring creatively inspired exhibits from around the world not only broadens your horizons but also enhances your artistic insight and appreciation. In 2008, the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art featured 12 exhibitions ranked among the world’s top 200 exhibitions, making it Australia’s most dynamic art museum.
The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art also hosts domestic and international art exhibitions, including painting and sculpture shows, and occasionally organizes concerts.
