Guide: At the summit of Longshan Mountain lies a depression known as Siwā, where once stood a grand temple complex—Dayun Temple. It originally had over a hundred halls, pavilions, and monks’ quarters. Built during the Northern Wei Dynasty, it was a renowned Buddhist monastery in North China. To the east of the temple, within Yùquán Gully, there is also Yùquán Temple. Beside the temple, the sound of bubbling springs and lush flowers and trees make it a great place to escape the heat. Both temples had lower temples as well—the lower temple of Dayun Temple is located in Jīngzhuāng Village, while that of Yùquán Temple is in Lǐyù Village. The main hall of Jīngzhuāng’s Dayun Temple still stands and is an architectural relic from the Jin Dynasty. In the past, the temples of Longshan formed an important ancient architectural complex. The pine forests, spruces, larches, elms, and cypresses on Longshan Mountain keep it green all year round, turning it into a sea of green.

Hiking Tips: When climbing up Nántiānmén, you must pull yourself up by grasping vines and scramble upward using the rocks.

Introduction:

Located southwest of Hunyuan County, 15 kilometers west of the main peak of Mount Heng, it faces the main peak from east to west across Cuìpíng Mountain, with an elevation of 2,266.8 meters—over 250 meters higher than the main peak of Mount Heng. Viewed from afar, the undulating peaks resemble dragons or snakes, hence the name, also known as Fēnglóng Mountain.
