The Ancient Ci Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Shanxi Province.

Ancient Ci Kiln Site

The Ancient Ci Kiln Site is located to the south of Guci Village, Qingciyao Township, approximately 15 kilometers south of Hunyuan County.

The site currently covers an area of about 6,000 square meters, with deposits about 1–3 meters thick. Scattered ceramic fragments can be found all over the ground. The kiln was active from the mid-to-late Tang Dynasty through the Jin and Yuan periods. The types of ware produced include bowls, cups, bottles, jars, and pouring vessels. Glaze colors include white, black, and green. After the Tang Dynasty, production decreased in scale and variety, focusing mainly on white porcelain with main ware types being bowls and plates. Decoration was predominantly black underglaze painting. Most items had no patterns, though some featured black painted designs, incised patterns, or carved patterns. All pieces were fired using spur supports and pads.
