The Dwarf Winter Jasmine Botanical Garden is located southwest of Kangsu Town, Wuqia County, starting from 75°00′30″ east longitude and 39°41′55″ north latitude. It stretches along both sides of the South Tianshan and Kunlun Mountains, with 15 concentrated distribution areas covering approximately 10 million square meters. The garden is 25 kilometers from Wuqia County town. Dwarf winter jasmine is the only

evergreen deciduous shrub in Xinjiang, a national first-class protected plant that is a remnant from the Late Cretaceous to the Tertiary period. It grows in arid, low-rainfall desert foothills with severely eroded soil consisting of gravel substrate, at altitudes of 2,000–2,400 meters. Having endured tremendous geological changes on Earth, it showcases a historical landscape from one hundred million years ago. Due to its high research value in history, geography, paleontology, and geology, as well as its significant role in desertification prevention and ecological construction, and ongoing studies in medicinal value, new oil source development, artificial cultivation, and propagation, it has garnered considerable attention. This area features the rare dwarf winter jasmine as its highlight, allowing visitors to observe unique desert plants and landscapes. It is suitable for scientific experiments, teaching fieldwork, science education, archaeological studies, and appreciating desert vegetation.
