The Last Ray of Sunshine in China
The Last Ray of Sunshine in China
Located in Simuhana Village, Jigen Township, Wuqia County, it is the place in China where the sun rises latest and sets latest. Just two kilometers from the Irkeshtam Port on the China-Kyrgyzstan border, it has a time difference of nearly four hours compared to the southeastern coastal regions. At 9:30 a.m. in winter, the thick night darkness begins to fade, and a pale light gradually appears on the horizon; by 10:00 a.m., the sky turns from black to a clear light blue, and the entire plateau resembles a crystal-clear blue gem. The morning glow intensifies gradually along the skyline, stretching from sky to earth and from earth to mountains. It is not until 10:30 a.m. that the sun slowly rises above the horizon. After 7:30 p.m., the sunset begins, and the beautiful evening glow gradually spreads across the sky, dyeing it red. The clouds in the sky become hazy, taking on various forms—some like little lambs running across vast grasslands, others like doves of peace flying freely. The entire Simuhana Village basks in the last rays of the setting sun over the motherland.
