Aizihan Fig Orchard

The Aizihan Fig Orchard is located in Aizihan Village, Songtak Township, just one kilometer from the city center. The Uyghur name for figs is "Anjir," also known as the "ginseng fruit." Originally native to West Asia, they were introduced to China during the Tang Dynasty via the Silk Road, where they were called "Ayi" or "Fuzhen," and commonly referred to as "figs" by the public. The fig tree is a shrub or small tree, with round fruits that start off green in their early stages and turn light yellow when ripe. The tree bears fruit three times a year, yielding both summer and autumn figs, which are available on the market around mid-July, mid-August, and early September. These figs contain 14–19% refractive sugar, are sweet and fragrant, and are rich in nutrients including various vitamins. They are highly renowned and attract visitors from far and wide.
