The Tomb of Karamat Bek

The Tomb of Karamat Bek is situated on the west side of the intersection between the Bachu County–Tumushuke Highway, approximately 40 kilometers from the county town. It is the burial site of the famous 14th–15th century historian, linguist, and poet Karamat Bek, who studied in places such as Pakistan and India. After returning, he conducted extensive research and documented the 1,500-year tribal life of the Dolan people. A man of great talent, he was proficient in Chinese, Urdu, Kazakh, Arabic, and other languages. His works have been translated into Mongolian and Chinese. In his later years, he traveled to Beijing to meet the emperor of the time. Some of his surviving works include *Love Stories* and *Madame Swallow*. The Tomb of Karamat Bek is easily accessible by transportation—just a 30-minute drive from Bachu County.

During Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, worshippers not only come from all villages within the county but also from neighboring counties, with the number of attendees sometimes exceeding 10,000. Every autumn, pilgrims arrive continuously by car, tractor, donkey cart, and many even make the journey on foot, creating an unending stream of visitors.
