The Chairman Mao Badge Exhibition Hall in Qira County displays over 18,000 badges of Chairman Mao from the revolutionary war period and the socialist construction period, more than 2,000 portraits, over 800 sculptures, more than 8,000 quotes, and over 500 daily items printed with Chairman Mao’s photos and other formats. The total number of items in the collection is approximately 30,000. Visitors consider this exhibition hall to be the only one in all of Xinjiang with the largest collection of materials related to Chairman Mao.

All the collections in the exhibition hall were gathered by Comrade Ainiwaer Simayi, a staff member of the Qira County Radio and Television Bureau, who, out of boundless reverence for the great leader Chairman Mao, spent his spare time collecting them at his own expense starting in 1987.
