Jiedong Mountain was originally a barren hill east of Shenchi County. After more than two decades of afforestation and conservation efforts, it is now covered with lush trees and boasts beautiful scenery. Hiking up the northern slope, you’ll pass through zones of Caragana, sea buckthorn, and poplar trees in succession. The southern slope is mostly pine forest. From the mountaintop, you can gaze westward to take in the full view of the county town, and eastward to watch the winding roads and railways — making it a great spot for locals to jog and hike.
