Shenchi National Hiking Trail
The Shenchi Hiking Trail is the first trail system in northern China to meet national standards and is one of only two standardized trails in the country. "The Shenchi Hiking Trail utilizes existing mountain paths and forest fire prevention roads in the Guancen Mountain area, connecting mountain villages and natural-cultural landscapes along the way into a continuous route, spanning a total length of 50 kilometers.
The design and construction of the trail system follow the principle of directly renewable use of natural resources, employing ecological construction methods that align with the surrounding natural scenery and vegetation, integrating both fitness and sightseeing functions. The route of the trail is designed like a rope, linking scattered resources along the way—such as alpine meadows and pristine villages—into a cohesive whole, forming a beautiful 'string of pearls.' Jiujiayuan (Uncle's Home) is located in Dongmaojiazhao Village, Shenchi County, Shanxi Province, situated in the central area of the trail system, and is a particularly pristine village within the system.
