Shihezi Beihu Park is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Here, corridors, pavilions, and water docks have been built, equipped with speedboats, sightseeing boats, jet skis, and water landing platforms. Activities such as swimming, boating, surfing, and fishing are offered. Currently, the scenic area features rippling waters, speeding speedboats, leisurely sightseeing boats, affectionate couples, the winding Dragon Dam, and weeping willows in embrace. Anglers enjoy their pastime in tranquility, swimmers tread the waves, while dozens of waterfowl species such as swans and wild geese play in the lake. The setting is further complemented by rockeries and ancient pavilions, presenting a vivid picture of a Jiangnan water town.

Every year on July 16th, the grand “Beihu Festival” takes place. On this day, people come from near and far to go boating, swimming, singing, dancing, fishing, and having picnics. The melodies of the dombra and rawap resonate around the lake from morning till night, while thousands of food stalls serve local delicacies such as grilled lamb, laghman, pilaf, and liangpi. Together with the fragrant and colorful fruits, the warm and beautiful local girls, they form a unique cultural phenomenon of Shihezi.
