The Camel Bell Dream Slope Desert Park is situated on the southern edge of the Gurbantünggüt Desert in the Junggar Basin. It is both a pristine, wild, and boundless desert world and a natural desert botanical garden. Lush saxaul, dense populus euphratica, fragrant jujube, elegant Aristida grass with feathery leaves, thamnopteris admired for its “ugliness,” rhubarb, cistanche, and astragalus with medicinal value, as well as tinkling camel thorn bushes and gnarled tung trees resembling deer antlers, together with striking red tamarisks, create a breathtaking natural scene full of color, scent, sound, and texture.

A total of 149 species of sand-loving plants from 89 genera and 24 families thrive here with remarkable resilience. The lush saxaul, dense populus euphratica, fragrant jujube, elegant Aristida grass, tinkling camel thorn, tung trees with antler-like branches, and vivid red tamarisks together form a spectacular natural wonder that engages the senses of sight, smell, sound, and sight. In addition, the park is home to a variety of Class I protected animals, including wild boars, goitered gazelles, wolves, foxes, jerboas, and more than a hundred other species such as “baby-headed snakes.”

At the desert park, visitors can climb sand dunes, trek across sandy seas, and embark on hiking adventures. They can also ride the “ships of the desert,” enjoying the melodious sound of camel bells while soaking in the vast desert scenery. The park also offers activities such as sandboarding, target shooting, watching desert sunrises and sunsets, and joining bonfire parties—making the desert experience vibrant, enriching, and unforgettable.
