Introduction Shihezi University is located in Shihezi City and encompasses ten major academic disciplines: agriculture, medicine, engineering, economics, management, literature, science, law, education, and history. The university comprises 20 colleges and offers 3 doctoral degree programs, 31 master's degree programs, 54 undergraduate majors, 11 key disciplines designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, the autonomous region, and the Corps, 2 key laboratories jointly established by the province and ministry, 23 various research institutions, and teaching and research equipment worth a total of 171.16 million yuan. It publishes five academic journals.

The campus covers an area of 1.73 million square meters, with building space totaling 780,000 square meters and laboratory space covering 150,000 square meters. It features well-equipped landmark structures including a library, gymnasium, and standard sports stadium. The library houses 2.12 million volumes and includes a collection point of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It is the only university demonstration project of China’s “863” Program Digital Library in Xinjiang.
