Menglou Fort Ruins

The Menglou Fort Ruins are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Menglou Fort Ruins are located 100 meters west of Xiaozhai Village, Donghu Township, Shenchi County. The site covers an area of 2,000 square meters. The outer fortification of Menglou Fort features high walls, with a base width of 2.5 meters, a top width of 1 meter, a remaining height of 5 meters, and a rammed earth layer thickness of 0.12 meters. The fortification forms a 30-meter square, faces south with its back to the north, and has its main gate located directly to the south. Inside the high fortress wall, another elevated platform known as Menglou was constructed, with a base width of 15 meters square and a remaining height of 3 meters, built with alternating layers of earth and stone. At the top of this high platform, a smaller elevated platform was built, measuring 6 meters square with a remaining height of 2 meters. Originally, there was a hall on top of the small platform, which has long been in ruins, and the deity once enshrined there is unknown. Based on the remains of the rammed earth structure, it is determined to be a site from the Song Dynasty.
