The Bajiao Ruins

The Bajiao Ruins are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Bajiao Ruins are located 50 meters south of Dongcun Village in Bajiao Town, Shenchi County. The terrain where the ruins are situated slopes gently from north to south. They span approximately 1,000 meters from north to south and 400 meters from east to west, covering an area of about 400,000 square meters. Exposed on the cliff face are ash pits measuring 2.4 meters in width and 1.2 meters in depth, with a circular base. Collected artifacts include pottery shards of sandy clay and fine clay with cord and impressed patterns. Based on the collected objects, the site is identified as dating back to the Warring States period.

Bajiao Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Shenchi County. During the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty, it was known as Bajiao Fort. In 1958, it was part of the Hongqi Commune, became the Bajiao Commune in 1961, and was established as a town in 1984. It is located in the central-western part of the county, 40 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 228 square kilometers, it has a population of 10,000. County and township roads from Shenchi and Yijing to Changzhen and Hongyazi pass through the town.
