Golden and Silver Beach Scenic Area

The Golden and Silver Beach Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Qinghai Golden and Silver Beach Scenic Area is located in Haiyan County, Qinghai Province. To the west, Tongbao Mountain borders Qinghai Lake, while to the north and east, it is surrounded by towering mountains. It adjoins Sanjiaocheng in Haiyan County to the south. Spanning over 1,100 square kilometers of vast grassland, the area is home to more than 300,000 heads of cattle and sheep, making it a typical pastoral region.

The sky on the grassland is a breathtaking blue; the clouds are perfectly white; the mountains are picturesque, and even the air is sweet and delightful. Flocks of sheep drift like floating clouds, and brown-and-black yaks wander sparsely among the green grass and wildflowers. From time to time, Tibetan herders dressed in traditional attire ride horses leisurely across the plains. The “In That Faraway Place,” composed by the “King of Western Songs” Wang Luobin, originated here in Golden and Silver Beach, spreading from Qinghai across all of China, captivating audiences at home and abroad.
