Ningwu Shen'ge

Ningwu Shen'ge is a cultural relic protection unit of Ningwu County.

Shen'ge is situated in Bamenkou Village, Huabei Tun Township, Ningwu County. It faces east and occupies an area of 45 square meters. Its construction date is uncertain, but the current structure is from the Qing Dynasty. It is a two-story pavilion-style building, standing 6 meters tall. The base is square with sides of 6.6 meters in length and width, and 3 meters high, constructed with stone. A vaulted passageway runs north-south through the center; the northern side of the arch is inscribed with “古” (Ancient), while the southern side is inscribed with “慈航” (Compassionate Ferry). The upper level of the pavilion features wooden construction with three bays in width and six rafters in depth, topped with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. It is surrounded by a corridor and remains well-preserved. According to inscriptions, it was renovated during the Republic of China period. In 1985, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Ningwu County.
