The Jiaocheng Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shanxi Province.

Era: Neolithic Age

Location: Waliu Village, Chengguan Town, 2 km northwest of Jiaocheng County

The site is distributed across the loess terraces on both banks of the Waliu River estuary. The eastern river area extends north to the top of Guashan Mountain, east to Wenchang Palace, south to the coal-hauling path, and west to the Waliu River. The western river area extends north to Luzhuping, west to Shentouao, south to Waliu Village, covering a total area of approximately 700,000 square meters. It belongs to the Yangshao and Longshan cultures of the Neolithic Age. The cultural remains are abundant, including pottery kilns, tombs, living quarters, ash pits, as well as a large number of ground and polished stone tools, painted pottery, gray pottery, and black pottery scattered on the surface. Painted pottery fragments feature typical pointed-bottom bottle rims; black pottery fragments include li tripods, yu basins, ding cauldrons, guan vessels, and jars; stone tools consist of stone knives, axes, adzes, chisels, and spinning wheels. Small jade bi discs and bone artifacts have also been discovered.
