Literature Tower The Literature Tower is a replica of an early Qing Dynasty architectural style featuring a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof and a hip-roofed main hall. It incorporates decorative elements from traditional Chinese architecture and boasts unique lighting and illumination designs that enhance the display effects of its exhibits. The tower displays portraits and biographical sketches of 94 Hanlin scholars, jinshi degree holders, and notable personalities from Shiping during the Ming and Qing dynasties, along with photos, works, and life stories of 19 cultural figures from the Republican era to the present. In addition, it houses over 300 books authored by Shiping locals and photographs of cultural relics and historic sites, vividly showcasing the cultural richness of Shiping, known as a "Famous Land of Literature."

Stepping into this building, visitors can trace nearly a thousand years of Shiping’s history, follow the development trajectory of Shiping as the “Foremost Literary Prefecture in Southern Yunnan,” and appreciate the region’s glorious achievements in nurturing exceptional talent and natural splendor. Among the notable figures are the 77 jinshi degree holders in history, Yuan Jiagu — the top scholar in the Special Economic Examination, He Yao — the designer of the first locomotive, Yang Chunzhou — a renowned photographer, Li Qiao — a celebrated Yi ethnic writer, Chen Kunrui — an automotive expert, Yuan Zongyu — a petrochemical specialist, and Dai Ruiwei — Yunnan’s first academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences... From these figures, one can easily sense the greatness and magic of this land.
