Yaping Ecotourism Scenic Area is located on the western bank of the Nujiang River in the Gaoligong Mountains, 54 kilometers from the county town, at an altitude of 2,600 to 3,000 meters. The area showcases the rich diversity of nature in all its glory. The main ecological features—including snow-capped mountains, bamboo seas, primeval forests, and local dwellings—are truly captivating. The Gaoligong Mountains stretch across the region, with snow-capped peaks that remain year-round. The Yamu River and Yazuo Luo Mountain boast pristine waters and lush greenery, where steep cliffs, peculiar peaks, and cascading waterfalls are common sights. The vast expanses of azaleas and the endless primeval forests create breathtakingly beautiful scenery.
