The Luoza River flows through four townships — Huaizhen Town (upstream), the border area between Xiaojie Township and Maolan Township (midstream), and Manghuai Township (downstream) — before joining the Lancang River. In the upstream section, the riverbed is wide and the water flows gently. Scattered ancient waterwheels stand by the riverbank, their tireless “creaking” sounds seemingly composing beautiful pastoral melodies. The downstream section of the river features deep gorges, a narrow riverbed, and rapid currents, forming the majestic Luoza River Gorge. The cliffs on either side of the gorge rise steeply, with ancient vines hanging down and lush forests all around, creating a spectacular and grand landscape.

The upper and middle reaches of the Luoza River have a wide riverbed and picturesque scenery on both banks, exuding a romantic and timeless rural charm. In this section, water tours or hiking sightseeing can be organized, allowing visitors to view the ancient creaking waterwheels and even take part in hands-on farm activities.

The lower reaches of the Luoza River have a narrow riverbed and steep cliffs on both sides, forming a magnificent and beautiful canyon landscape. In addition to canyon sightseeing, this section also offers opportunities for specialized tourism activities such as rock climbing and adventure.
