The Maolan Ancient Tea Horse Road is a cultural relic protection unit of Yunnan Province.

The Maolan Ancient Tea Horse Road is located in Maolan Village, Maolan Town, Yun County, extending to Anle Village, Masi Village, Lingmo Village, and Shaojie Village. It includes one ancient ferry crossing, ancient post road ruins stretching a total of 8,996 meters, three stone slab bridges, and one stone arch bridge. The Maolan Ancient Tea Horse Road originated during the Tang and Song dynasties, took shape in the Yuan dynasty, and flourished during the Ming and Qing dynasties through the Republican era. It served as the essential route for transporting tea and other goods from Zhenkang, Cangyuan, Shuangjiang, Gengma, Ning'er, and Yunzhou to Dali, Zhongdian, and Kunming via Maolan during the Ming, Qing, and Republican periods. It was also the official transportation artery used by successive Chinese dynasties to administer the frontier regions of Yunzhou, Ning'er, Gengma, Shuangjiang, Cangyuan, and Zhenkang for political and military purposes.

On October 7, 2019, the Maolan Ancient Tea Horse Road was included in the eighth batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.

Maolan Town: Located in the northeastern part of the county seat, it borders four rural offices—Gazhi, Baiyingshan, Jiufang, and Mangguang—of Manwan Town to the east, and two village committees—Manggui and Wensu—of Manghuai Yi and布朗 Ethnic Township to the southeast. To the south, it is separated from three village committees—Yueyadi, Kuaile, and Xinlian—of Xiaojie Township by the Luozha River; to the southwest, it adjoins Yongsheng Office of Aihua Town; to the west, it neighbors Yaojie Yi Ethnic Township of Fengqing County; and to the north, it faces Xinmin Township of Nanjian Yi Autonomous County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, across the Lancang River.
