Shuanghe Hot Springs

Shuanghe Hot Springs is located in Anding Township, Jingdong County, approximately 50 kilometers from the county seat. Originally named Hot Water Pond, it earned its name because both the Laocang River and the Liyue River have hot springs. The hot springs are surrounded by high mountains, forming a well-sealed small valley basin with lush vegetation all around. Within the basin, two streams of high-quality mountain spring water converge here, and the pebbles at the bottom of the stream are beautifully shaped, forming a large area of pebble beach.

Along the stream banks lies a flat patch of farmland, scattered across which are several hot spring outlets. According to county records from the Qing Dynasty, there are historical accounts of locals (from outside the area) bathing in the hot springs as early as the Qing Dynasty. For many years, local residents have maintained the habit of bathing and making pilgrimages here. Data provided by the Kunming Metallurgical Survey and Design Institute of China Nonferrous Metals Industry in 2000 indicates that the daily water output exceeds 500 cubic meters, with a water temperature of 48 degrees Celsius. It is a calcium-magnesium-rich hot spring with good water quality.
