Manwan, Jingdong County — The Ailao Mountain Provincial Scenic Area consists of six sections: Manwan, Ailao Mountain Azalea Lake, Wuliang Mountain Barren Grass Ridge, Dachaoshan, Jinping, and Immortal Village, along with the stretch from Anding to Manwan, covering a total area of 160 square kilometers.

Owing to its location on a key north-south geological and geographical boundary, the area boasts well-preserved pristine ecology that showcases unique natural scenery, earning it the reputation of a “magical natural museum.”

The landscape features species diversity, primeval forest vegetation, rare birds and animals, exotic flowers, large-scale hydroelectric stations and reservoirs on the Lancang River, as well as striking landforms. It is complemented by ethnic culture, Yi traditions, and cultural attractions. With its distinctive scenic resources, this is one of the province’s rare concentrated scenic areas, offering diverse values such as sightseeing, scientific research, and adventure hiking.
