Ximeng Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

Ximeng Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is situated 50 meters southwest of the Wushan Tianchi in Mengkan Town, Ximeng Va Autonomous County. The cemetery was relocated here in 1961 and rebuilt in 1981. It was established to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the liberation of Ximeng’s Awa Mountain region and in various border anti-bandit campaigns over the years. Covering an area of 600 square meters, the cemetery contains 63 martyr tombs, one martyrs' memorial tower standing 6 meters tall, which features a marble base and a square, columnar tower body, along with a commemorative inscription and inscribed messages.

The middle section of the tower body is engraved with the words “Eternal Glory to the People’s Heroes.” On the eastern side of the lower part of the tower is an inscription from the People’s Government of Ximeng County that reads “Heroic Spirit Soars, Valor Lives On.” The commemorative inscription is carved in Ximeng marble in regular script, with 423 characters in intaglio. The north face of the monument lists the names and positions of 93 martyrs. In May 1987, the cemetery was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
