Liang Village Site

The Liang Village Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Liang Village Site, located about 10 kilometers southeast of Qi County, covers an area of approximately 2 square kilometers and contains relics from the late Yangshao Culture.

Liang Village Site (First Batch Provincial-Level Protected Site)

Era: Neolithic Age

Location: West of Guocun Village, 10 kilometers southeast of Qi County

The site spans an area of about 2 square kilometers, where ancient pottery shards are scattered throughout. On the high cliff face in the northwest of the village, distinct layers of burnt ash and ash pits are exposed, containing abundant cultural remains. A survey was conducted in 1954, and from September 5 to 28, 1955, an excavation confirmed it as a Neolithic Yangshao Culture site. Artifacts unearthed include pottery, stone, and bone tools. Pottery items consist of painted pottery, red pottery, and gray pottery, with vessel types such as jars, bowls, and tripods. Stone tools comprise 13 items including stone axes, stone balls, stone knives, and stone rings. Bone tools include 16 bone arrowheads, 5 bone chisels, 2 bone needles, and 4 bone awls. Shell tools include perforated shells, shell rings, and shell knives.

In May 2013, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council.
