The former site of the Red Sixth Army Corps Headquarters in the county town is located on Binjiang Street. It was originally the home of a major local landlord, Yang Dehe, and is a four-courtyard compound with four sections. The front section facing the street is a three-room, two-story building made of brick and wood; the second section is the main hall, a one-story wooden structure above a ground floor; the third section is the living quarters, also a one-story wooden structure above a ground floor; the fourth section is the living quarters, a two-story building above a ground floor made of brick and wood.

On January 9, 1936, under the leadership of Xiao Ke, [name redacted], and Gan Siqi, the Red Sixth Army captured Jiangkou County. The Corps Headquarters, Command Headquarters, and Red Army Hospital, among other units, were stationed in the county town, with the Corps Headquarters occupying the home of the landlord Yang Dehe. As Yang was an enlightened landlord who was relatively friendly and hospitable toward the Red Army, he was treated well by them, and a sign was posted on his gate reading “Do not harm him or use his belongings.” That evening, the Corps Headquarters held a meeting with division and regiment officers to discuss rest and recuperation, troop expansion, redistributing wealth to aid the poor, and preparing to welcome the return of the 18th Regiment. At that time, it served as the military command center of the Red Army.
