Sanyuan Tun is located on the mountaintop of Qin’nenpo in Xikou Village, Taoying Township, Jiangkou County. The terrain is flat, open, and expansive, covering a large area. Originally, there were eight main gates, and now there are six villager groups with a population of over 700. It is approximately 10 kilometers from the seat of Taoying Township government.

The Sanyuan Tun base was originally a garrison site for the Qing Dynasty militia. It became one of the key strongholds of the Red Flag Army after the militia leaders Li Piji and Leizhou joined the Red Flag Army uprising. In October 1856, the Red Flag Army was defeated during the Qing government’s three-province suppression campaign, and the base fell.
