Fanjing Mountain Buddhist Cultural Park

The Fanjing Mountain Buddhist Cultural Park consists of the Wind and Rain Bridge, the Lotus Square, the Pilgrimage Steps, and the most worthwhile sight—the Grand Golden Buddha Temple. Ascend the steps and pass through a series of archways and squares to reach the highest point in the park, where the world’s only Grand Golden Buddha Temple is located. The temple sits atop a lotus pond surrounded by water, making it the world’s only golden palace on water. Majestic and profoundly sacred, it houses the world’s grandest Golden Jade Maitreya, which is composed of four parts: the golden statue, the Buddha’s halo, the white jade lotus pedestal, and the Sumeru base. A total of 250 kilograms of gold were used in its construction, along with thousands of precious jewels, jadeites, and diamonds.
