The construction date is unknown, but it has been renovated during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It is a grand ancient Taoist architectural complex. The temple faces south and covers a total area of 2,158 square meters. Existing structures include a street-facing screen wall, an eight-character screen wall, the mountain gate, a theater stage, bell and drum towers, the main hall, an offering hall, east and west side halls, and the rear sleeping hall. The main hall is five bays wide and three bays deep, with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. The central columns in the front bay feature suspended plasterwork depicting “two dragons playing with a pearl.” The offering hall is convex-shaped, three bays wide and two bays deep, with a single-eave hip-and-gable roofed porch extending forward.

The mountain gate, theater stage, and bell and drum towers of the temple share a unified roofing structure, forming an integrated architectural complex. The roof ridges of the Five Sacred Mountains Temple are all decorated with glazed ornaments primarily in peacock blue, featuring pure colors and elegant designs, all locally produced.
