The Jiexiu Fenhe River Wetland Forest Park is an extension of the Fenhe Park to the north. It is located south of the Fenhe River Bridge on Sanxian Avenue in Jiexiu City and north of National Highway 108, stretching 2.4 kilometers along both the southern and northern banks—from the rubber dam of the Fenhe River north of Shengli Bridge in the south to the west gate of the forest park in the north. The total area covers 1,000 acres (including 450 acres of water surface). It follows the construction concept of “nature, ecology, and wild charm.” In short, its landscape features “one water belt, two corridors, three green islands, and four scenic spots.” Among them, the four scenic spots are “Fragrant Grass Ferry” and “Dance of the Wheels” on the east bank, and “Stone Gathering Garden” and “Wild Charm Garden” on the west bank.

The northern section of the Fenhe Scenic Area originally had a good ecological environment, with an interwoven network of waterways, grassy wetlands, and a rich diversity of wildlife and plant species—providing favorable natural conditions. Therefore, in October 2005, using the existing terrain and integrating natural surface water, efforts were first made here to create a natural wetland landscape. During the construction process, workers strived to retain the original scenery, pursue ecological balance, and work to restore local biodiversity in order to promote the positive development of the urban ecosystem. The scenic area also designated restricted zones where visitors can only observe from a distance, ensuring the rest and recovery of wildlife.

This year, after on-site inspections, evaluations, collective reviews, and public announcements by expert panels from the National Forestry Administration and the Provincial Forestry Department, the Jiexiu Fenhe River Wetland Forest Park was officially designated as a National Wetland Park by the National Forestry Administration.
