Nestled among the mountains to the east of the county town are seven interconnected alpine lakes linked by waterfalls — this is Bamu Lake. The lakes are spaced just a hundred meters apart but are joined by cascading waterfalls. The splashing falls and tranquil lakes create a breathtaking and rarely seen landscape.

The Bamu Seven Lakes Scenic Area is located in the mountainous region east of Xiangcheng County. Its main features include a cluster of high-altitude cirque lakes, waterfalls, streams, hot springs, primeval forests, meadows, snow-capped mountains, pastures, remnants of the ancient Tea Horse Road, temples, Tibetan villages, and unique rock formations. The scenic area spans 17,865 hectares, comprising 432 hectares of high-altitude lakes, 1,961 hectares of woodland, 12,000 hectares of high-altitude oak forest, 3,270 hectares of grassland, and 202 hectares of other land types.
