Stone Buddha Cliff (Bao'en Temple) is located about 3 kilometers north of Junlian County in a steep cliff within Guomucai, Junlian Town. A naturally formed spacious cave was utilized along with the mountain terrain to construct a temple, creating multiple scenic spots. Everywhere you go, you can admire vividly carved stone Buddhas. It is said that Stone Buddha Cliff was built during the Tang Dynasty. The artisans who carved the stone Buddhas are believed to have also worked on the famous Leshan Giant Buddha. Due to the passage of time, the temple at Stone Buddha Cliff once fell into ruins.

In the early 1980s, over 200 stone Buddhas buried deep beneath Stone Buddha Cliff were excavated, making headlines and attracting extensive media coverage both domestically and internationally. The People's Government of Junlian County designated it as a key cultural relic protection unit of the county. Mr. Fan Bochao, a Chinese-American who visited the site, was so impressed that he spontaneously composed a high praise for the scenic area. Stone Buddha Cliff is distinguished by its "stone Buddhas" and "rock caves," offering a unique experience and making it a great destination for sightseeing and leisure.
