The Immortal Cave is located in Zhujia Gully, Jianshe Village, Tengda Town, 21 kilometers from the county seat. Facing south and extending to the south, the cave stretches 5.5 kilometers deep, with a mouth that spans 50–60 meters wide. There is an underground river pool with particularly clear water. The cave’s subterranean river leads far into the distance, where visitors can take boat rides amid the murmuring sound of flowing water. After walking about 80 meters into the cave, you’ll see crisscrossing fields and terraces of varying heights forming terraced fields of different sizes—these are the rimstone dams formed by calcified deposits (commonly called cave terraces), with a total ridge length of 17.8 meters. From a higher terrace, a silver stream flows down, replenishing the calcified dams that form steep ridges. The dam ridges are 0.2 to 5.6 meters high, with water depths between 0.1 and 0.7 meters, and the widest part of the dams reaches 17.5 meters. Inside the cave, water flows year-round, and stone lotus flowers grow in the water along with well-developed rimstone dams. A peculiar type of transparent fish, through which you can see its internal organs, lives in the rice-paddy-like pools. The rimstone dams consist of over 40 individual structures forming a calcified pool cluster, distributed in a wavelike pattern, covering an area of 1,678 square meters, with a total dam length of 176 meters. The surroundings of the Immortal Cave are serene and deep, and at the top of the cave entrance, there is a waterfall cascading like a water curtain, creating a fairyland-like scene. The cave’s calcified pool landscape is even more unique because it forms naturally within the cave. Footage of the Immortal Cave scenery has been shown at exhibitions in Russia and has been described by experts and scholars as a rare wonder in the world.
