Qingxigou Scenic Area

Qingxigou Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Qingxigou Tea Culture Theme Park is located in the northern part of the Tea Culture Tourism Zone in Tangba Township, Yunlian County, Yibin City — the hometown of Sichuan Black Tea. It is an ecological park integrating tourism, agriculture, and culture. The park mainly consists of a tea culture club, a tea museum garden, tea-style villas, an aerial hotel, and a tea culture hotel. It combines tea plantation sightseeing, tea processing, tea skill training, tea performances, wellness pools, and cascading water landscapes. Additional service facilities such as fishing by the Qingxi Stream and stylish bars offer visitors a comprehensive leisure experience.

Upon entering the scenic area, you are greeted by the air faintly scented with tea, and your eyes are drawn to 11 clubs built high above the ground. Standing outside these clubs and looking out, the “treehouse-like structures” appear intermittently among the mountains — these are the standalone “aerial hotels” (also known as “bird’s nests”) nestled within the forest. The “bird’s nests” are fully equipped with air conditioning, water heaters, TVs, and automatic mahjong machines. Wi-Fi coverage extends throughout the entire scenic area. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the ambiance of tea culture while enjoying the beauty of nature, instantly relieving all fatigue.

Additionally, small-leaf kuding tea and green tea grow abundantly in the mountains. Known as the “green gold,” small-leaf kuding tea has a notable cooling and fire-reducing effect. It lacks the intense bitterness of large-leaf kuding tea but retains the sweetness of green tea. Once brewed, it presents a vibrant green color and is commonly referred to as “Green Mountains and Clear Waters.” This tea comes from the evergreen tree species of the Ligustrum genus under the Oleaceae family. With its lush green appearance, emerald infusion, and fresh green leaves, it is a purely wild plant. The taste is mildly bitter with a fragrant aroma, transforming from bitterness to sweetness. It helps clear heat and toxins, improve vision and liver health, soothe the throat, and nourish the lungs — making it a truly natural and healthy beverage. Imagine this: early in the morning, catching the dew and sunlight, picking a handful of fresh leaves, brewing a pot of clear tea, and taking a rest by the cascading waters for a while — fully enjoying the tranquility of a slow life. What a wonderful experience that would be.

The scenic area draws on Yunlian’s unique ethnic minority culture to present different facets of Junzhou charm to visitors from across the country. Highlights include the March Tea Picking and Flower Appreciation Festival, the April Mountain Climbing Festival, the June Summer Water Splashing Festival, the July Torch Festival, picking plums at Shangfeng Village in August, camping experiences in September, citrus picking in Qingxigou in October, and in winter, soaking in hot springs and attending bonfire parties.
