Tangba Ancient Town

Tangba Ancient Town, located in Tangba Township, Yunlian County, was one of the important rest stops along the ancient Sichuan-Yunnan trade route, just a valley away from Yunnan. After the completion of the Yiyang Highway in 1959, Tangba declined, but it was precisely this decline that helped preserve its original appearance. The old street still retains at least 35 shops to this day.

Tangba Township: Commonly known as the “Hometown of a Thousand Cranes,” Tangba is situated on the western edge of Yunlian County, covering an area of 31.3 square kilometers. It lies within the mid-subtropical humid monsoon climate zone. The township administers 7 administrative villages and 45 groups. With a forest coverage rate of over 25%, it is home to more than 8,000 hardworking and kind-hearted residents.
