Longpan Stream is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Longpan Stream Scenic Area is located in Longxi Village, Dongdi Town, Changning County, situated in the northeastern part of Dongdi Town, 3 kilometers from the Dongdi town center and adjacent to Provincial Highway G309 (Guyao Road). Nestled between two mountains and a valley, the area forms the rugged mountainous and deep-streamed landscape that serves as the foundation for tourism at Longpan Stream. The crystal-clear Yujian River flows through the scenic area, dividing it into northern and southern banks. It features distinctive geographical advantages, pleasant scenery, beautiful environment, and hospitable villagers. In 2017, the scenic area was rated as a “National AAA-level Tourist Attraction.”

In Longpan Stream, there are three river beaches that record the growth history of Yinglong—the Qiu Dragon Beach, the Flood Dragon Beach, and the Yinglong Beach. Each beach has its own unique characteristics. The locals of Longxi have made full use of them by building horse riding fields, hosting bonfire parties, camping, fishing, and barbecues on these sites. Especially on sunny days, you can have a barbecue by the Yujian River beach, enjoying delicious food while taking in the beautiful riverside scenery.

Currently, the village has four “farmhouse dining” establishments, and has developed locally distinctive dishes such as firewood chicken, wooden barrel fish, yellow catfish, and multiple ways to cook a goose. These have gained quite a reputation in Changning.

Longxi Village has developed and established a 400-mu plum orchard, a 300-mu chestnut orchard, a 30-mu longan orchard, a 40-mu pomelo orchard, and several bamboo forest chicken breeding farms.

Newly explored cultural sites and attractions include Yinglong Pavilion, Wangfu Rock, Jiaolong Cave, Longxi, and the former site of the Learn from Dazhai in Agriculture campaign. The abandoned Magua Coal Mine site has also been repurposed and integrated into the tourism offerings. To date, a 5-kilometer riverside cycling trail has been built, along with two farmhouse experience spots, and plans are underway to develop a 40-mu vegetable picking garden to further enhance visitor participation and immersive experiences.

Dongdi Town: Located on the southwestern edge of Changning County, Dongdi Town borders Longtou Town to the east, Xunchang Town to the west, Gongquan Town (the county seat of Gong County) to the south, and Huatan Town to the north. The highest elevation is 800 meters, and the lowest is 300 meters. The Xugao Second-Class Cement Road runs east-west across the town, which is 10 kilometers away from the Yiping Railway Line. The Changning River flows through the area. The town is rich in resources, enjoys convenient transportation, holds unique advantages, and features captivating scenery. Its main mineral resources are coal and limestone, with anthracite reserves exceeding 50 million tons, bituminous coal over 500,000 tons, and high-quality limestone found abundantly.
