Dayanling Scenic Area

The Dayanling Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Legend has it that Dayanling was a habitat for migratory wild geese traveling between north and south. Flocks of geese would stop here to drink, forage, and rest briefly before continuing their journey. The Dayanling Scenic Area is located in the northern part of Dawo Town, Gao County, along the lower reaches of the Nan Guang River and adjacent to the downtown area of Yibin City. Its main section covers Dawu Village in Dawo Town and is one of the nodes in the six key tourism zones within the Nan Guang River Basin scenic area. The area sits at an elevation of 300 to 700 meters, spans 11 square kilometers, and has a forest coverage rate of 65%. The first-class Yiqing Road and the Yibin Ring Expressway currently under construction pass through the scenic area. It is about 20 kilometers from Yibin East High-Speed Railway Station.

Currently, the main completed attractions include the Dayanling Tea Culture Sightseeing and Experience Park, Dayan Lake, and the Hundred Flowers Garden. Attractions under construction include the Dabangshang Tea Sightseeing Experience Park, Wild Grape Valley, and the Nan Guang River Golden Bay Water Park. There is one completed visitor center, four sub-centers, and five farmhouse entertainment spots.

The Dayanling Tea Culture Sightseeing and Experience Park features an ecological and technological demonstration tea plantation covering 1,000 mu, a 1,000-ton tea processing factory, and a tea quality inspection center. Yanming Lake, an artificial lake completed this year, covers 70 mu with a water storage capacity of 290,000 cubic meters. Supporting facilities include a manor gate and a covered bridge, and plans are underway to construct an ancient-style Great Wall and a spring flower exhibition.

The Hundred Flowers Garden is located by Yunfeng Lake, covering 200 mu. It features a well-planned variety of flowers to create a garden that can be enjoyed in all four seasons. Supporting facilities include a swimming pool and vacation-style elderly care apartments. The Dabangshang Tea Sightseeing Experience Park retains the natural terraced landscape, offering a uniquely beautiful scenery that is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. The Wild Grape Valley is home to hundreds of wild grape trees that are decades old. These trees produce abundant fragrant flowers, and their fruits are sweet, juicy, and have a pleasant rose aroma, making them very popular with visitors. The juice from these grapes, after fermentation, can be used to brew high-end beverages. The flowers, seeds, and bark also have medicinal value, making this area a haven for wellness.

The Nan Guang River Golden Bay Water Park offers a variety of recreational activities such as leisure, fishing, water sports, and competitions. Plans also include the construction of a wellness and elderly care center, a garden of rare trees, greenhouses for vegetables and fruits, hot springs, a baijiu (Chinese liquor) estate, and the restoration of a temple.

The mountains, waters, and trees of Dayanling form a beautiful ecological painting. The area’s proximity to the city, unique tea plantation and garden scenery, and fresh air allow visitors to enjoy the tranquility and serenity brought by nature and culture, as well as the fun and excitement of natural swimming pools and water activities. Dayanling is gradually becoming an important destination for short trips near Yibin, having received a cumulative total of 100,000 visitors this year.
