The Lai Family Tombs of Dashishi

The Lai Family Tombs of Dashishi are a Sichuan Provincial Cultural Heritage Site.

Traveling 2 kilometers east from Longgui Mountain, you’ll arrive at the Lai Family Tomb Cluster, a county-level cultural heritage site in Youzaoba, Huzhu Village. This is a connected-chamber tomb complex of Lai Shengbang and his two sons. There are three tomb steles covering an area of 228 square meters. Two feature single-eave Xieshan-style steles, while one has a double-eave Xieshan-style stele. The gables are triple-tiered and double-eave Xieshan-style. The steles and fences are adorned with over 50 high-relief carvings depicting figures, flowers, plants, as well as pigs, cows, and sheep, along with poetic inscriptions. The calligraphy was inscribed by Lai Tiancheng, a renowned calligrapher from southern Sichuan during the Qing Dynasty. Both the carving artistry and calligraphy are of very high value. It can be said that what unfolds before us is a “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” portraying the once-prosperous Lai family of that time.

Protected Area: An additional 10-meter buffer zone beyond the tomb site boundaries.

Construction Control Zone: An additional 150-meter buffer zone beyond the protected area.
