Shuilaopu Great Weir

The Shuilaopu Great Weir is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Sichuan Province.

The Shuilaopu Great Weir was built in Shuilaopu Village, Shiba Yi Ethnic Township, Xuyong County. Nestled between towering mountains and deep valleys, the weir boasts a long history and primitive construction techniques. With its grand scale and largely intact structure, it holds significant aesthetic value. Since its completion, it has irrigated farmland in Huilong, Linchang, and Fengdeng Villages in Shiba Yi Ethnic Township and solved drinking water issues for both people and livestock. Residents of these three villages have long depended on the weir for their livelihoods, playing an essential role in local life and economic development. It is one of the more complete and rare ancient dam and irrigation canal structures preserved in the county, offering deep historical and cultural significance and substantial value for anthropological research.

Protective boundary: 5 meters beyond the weir structure.

Construction control zone: 50 meters beyond the protective boundary to the east and west; 10 meters beyond the protective boundary to the south and north.
