The Xuyong City Wall is a cultural heritage site under the protection of Xuyong County.

The Xuyong City Wall is located in Xuyong Town, Xuyong County, serving as a county-level cultural heritage site.

Protected area: A 5-meter zone outside the main wall is designated as the protected area.

Construction control zone: A 10-meter buffer outside the protected area constitutes the construction control zone.

Xuyong Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Xuyong County and location of the county government. Historically, it was an important passage route from Sichuan to Yunnan and Guizhou, as well as one of the ports for Sichuan salt exports. During the Ming Dynasty, it served as the seat of the Yongning Pacification Commission and Yongning Guard. In the Qing Dynasty, it was the administrative center of Xuyong Direct-Jurisdiction Office and Yongning Prefecture. In 1933, it was established as Zhongcheng Town, renamed Shuangcheng Town in 1942, divided into Dongcheng and Xicheng towns in 1951, merged into Chengguan Town in 1956, and officially renamed Xuyong Town in 1981. Located in the central part of the county, astride both banks of the Yongning River, it covers an area of 117.6 square kilometers with a population of 86,000.
