Doukou Temple

Doukou Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Doukou Temple is located 102 kilometers from Pingwu County. According to expert research, the temple is an early Ming Dynasty structure, predating the Bao'en Temple. The temple covers an area of over 1,200 square meters. Originally, it consisted of a mountain gate, Arhat Hall, Guanyin Hall, and the main hall known as the Great Buddha Hall. Today, only the three rooms of the Great Buddha Hall remain. The Great Buddha Hall is well-preserved, with wooden components remaining in their original state. It is the earliest existing ancient wooden structure in Pingwu and provides valuable physical material for the study of early wooden architectural techniques in the region. Due to its historical, artistic, and scientific research value, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in 2007.

Protected area: 30 meters east of Qingyi River embankment, 20 meters west of Government Street, 15 meters south of the Cultural Center, and 20 meters north of Doukou Central Primary School.

Construction control zone: 30 meters beyond the protected area.
